The Berry Lip Trend.

On a day to day basis I am a nude lip kinda girl however when it comes to the colder months and richer colours come back into season I cant help but delve into my collection and grab those plummy shades. I have a couple that are my holy grail Autumnal lip shades that I reach for every year and also some more recent purchases.

In terms of finish I do tend to prefer a matte or satin as I find the darker shades wear better in those formulas, although I often suffer from dry lips so I just place some Elizabeth Arden 8 hour lip balm on before to keep them hydrated. I also tend to use lipliners with most of these shades to get a cleaner line and to stop any colour bleeding.

L-R: Charlotte Tilbury; Night Crimson..Rimmel; 107..Revlon; Fiery Flamboyante..Mac; Dark Side..Nars; Cruella.

*Charlotte Tilbury in Night Crimson - I LOVE this lipstick, the colour, the formula, the packaging, it's just perfection! The longevity of this product is very impressive and wears off evenly so none of that patchy lip situation going on! Although these lipsticks are at the higher end of the price scale they are worth the hype if you're looking for that one perfect lipstick.

*Rimmel Kate Moss in 107 - I dont think there will ever be an Autumn lip edit without this one featured. The quality of this lipstick for the price is outstanding and delivers everything you need for Fall. I am now on my third purchase of this shade and will continue to repurchase as it is such a great buy!

*Revlon Matte Balm in Fiery Flamboyante - A very new purchase for me, I'm pretty sure this is a new shade as I had never seen it before. I have a couple of these already and adore the consistency, they are perfect for quick and easy application aswell as being comfortable to wear and give great pigmentation.

*Mac in Dark Side - I had to include a Mac shade, although I have quite a collection I dont reach for them as often as I used to, yet I do love the colour range that they do. Dark Side is the newest to my collection and is one I have been reaching for, contrary to its name this is wearable shade and isn't quite as scary as it sounds, I've found patting it down to more of a stain with a balm on top looks really pretty if you want something more subtle.

*Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella - The perfect red. There is no better way to explain this shade, it is definitely a bold statement and is not for the faint hearted if you're nervous of trying a bolder shade however if you're looking for that classic red then you can stop right here because everything you need is in this lip pencil. My only criticism would be it is slightly drying on the lips and therefore does need a balm underneath, but I tend to wear one anyway so its not really a problem.

Thanks for reading, as always I read all comments and answer any questions - let me know any autumn favourites you have so I can check them out!

Fuller Lips.

After this summer the fuller Kylie Jenner lip obsession has been in full swing and we all want to be able to achieve the same look, however she may be denying it but there is no way that is all natural and the crazy overlining is not something that we should all try to pull off. So with that in mind, how do we achieve this look without smeering gloss up to our nose? Well I think I've found a way that enhance your natural lips, I like using this routine as it just makes my lips look fuller and healthier but not to the point of fake.

If I do go for that fuller lip look I tend to only do natural shades as I think it looks less intense than a red lip for instance, the steps I use can be put with any shade at all and if you are more confident with your lip colours then it should work just as nicely.

I always start with a lip liner and my favourite is the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in the shade Eastend Snob, its a really creamy consistency and is a neutral rose toned pink, I make sure I line my lips precisely and emphasise the cupids bow I then blend the liner with my ring finger so it doesnt have such a bold line.

For the next step I use a lipstick, I never tend to use a matte finish for this look but thats just my preference, so the one I use is the L'Oreal Privee Nude in Cheryl's shade which is a satin finish beige tone. I really like the formula of these they feel really moisturising on the lips and have a nice finish that even on their own look great with a smokey eye.

The last step I use is a gloss, I tend to pick a tone that really matches the lipstick I'm using so at the moment I'm constantly picking up Urban Decay's Naked Gloss in the shade Naked which is a nude toned gloss with small shimmer in that doesnt look like glitter but looks really beautiful when the light hits it. These glosses are super nourishing aswell and arent sticky which is something that puts me off gloss most of the time as the whole hair stuck to your face look is not one I'm too keen on.

So those are my three easy steps to get fuller looking lips, I'm really enjoying this look at the moment especially with Christmas parties coming up when I love to do a bolder eye and need something simple for my lips.

Let me know if you have any tips on to make your lips look fuller, I read every comment and reply to any questions.

Online Superdrug Haul

The other day I uploaded a haul (here) of a few items that I picked up from Superdrug instore which I got because after making my online order there were certain items that were out of stock that I really wanted to try. Yesterday my parcel finally arrived with lots of exciting new things for me to try.

For the non-beauty items first I got some shower gels which are abit boring so I wont go into them, I also picked up some B. facial wipes, I havent tried these before but have heard they are good and as they were half price I thought I would try them out. I got the Rio scent of the Colab dry hair shampoos, which smells aaa-maazzing, its definitely giving my Batiste a run for its money. Finally I got two fragrances, one of which is a present for my brother, Bullion For Men; I got him this last year as a little extra and he loved it so I got him one again this year and then I got Exquisite for me as I wanted a cheap perfume to keep in my handbag and will do a review on this soon.

Now for the exciting bit! So at Superdrug theres a 3for2 mix and match across brands, then I also now get my staff discount online which is a dangerous thing to do as stuff like this happens. I've wanted to try some products from The Balm for a really long time and the two things I chose are really popular and slightly hyped up on the blogging world so I took a chance and got my hands on the Time Balm concealer and the Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter, both of which I am now obsessed with. I also got two other concealers from B. these are the click pen ones that I got for radiance rather than covering dark circles or blemishes.

L-R// Rimmel 107...Revlon Berry Couture... Tanya Burr, Aurora,,Lets Travel The World

Obviously I also got some lip products since I think I can admit now I may have a bit of an addiction...
The Tanya Burr cosmetics line is now pretty much complete on my dressing table and I havent done so just because shes such a lovely woman; these products are actually incredible and for a girl that doesnt like glosses, I have nearly every shade. The two that I got were Aurora and Let's Travel The World. Lastly I got my two lipsticks, the first being Rimmel's Kate Moss Matte in 107 which is a bloggers and personal favourite, this is a beautiful lipstick all round and definitely recommended for this time of year. Then I got Revlon's Berry Couture which is a sheer purple berry tone, super pretty and wearable.

So thats everything! I will be doing some reviews on these products after abit of time using them and seeing what I think. Let me know if you have tried any of the above and what you thought.

Please leave any comments or questions below, I read every one and will reply to any questions

Red Lips.

By now most of us have put our corals and pinks to the back of our make up drawers and have been favouring those berry tones for Autumn/Winter. I know I have been wearing Mac's Rebel pretty much constantly this month and loving that plummy wine colour; however I have noticed a certain colour going unworn that I have so many beautiful variations of and I couldnt think of a reason as to why I have been neglecting it.

Red is most definitely a bold statement and for those that are shy of bright make up, red lips can often be really intimidating. Personally I love a red lip and think it can really brighten up your complexion and even when you're not wearing much else it can give you a very polished look.

L-R: Revlon 'Candy Apple'... Bourjois 'Red Island'...Mac 'True Loves Kiss'...L'Oreal 'Juliannes Red'... Rimmel 'Red Diva'
So I'll start off with the two most sheer and buildable shades in the collection, Revlon's Candy Apple and Bourjois' Red Island. Both of these shades start with a sheer wash of red which is great for anyone that  wants to try a red lip but doesn't want to go too full on straight away. These are also very moisturising and wear off evenly, I find Candy Apple to be more orange-red which I do prefer but Red Island is also really pretty.

Now for the two lipsticks. Yes I know the Maleficent shade is LE but there are many mac reds that are just beautiful like Ruby Woo and Russian Red, I've included True Loves Kiss to represent the brand just as much as the actual shade as it is just a clean bright red that wouldn't be hard to dupe. Secondly my new absolute love! I fell for the L'Oreal Nudes collection when they came out and now the reds have just stolen my heart. The formula is incredible, the colour is beautiful and the packaging is sleek and compact which basically ticks all my boxes.

Lastly is a liner, Rimmel's Red Diva is part of their Exaggerate range, it's a blue toned red but blends really nicely with any of the shades previously mentioned. It has a creamy formula and even with just this on my lips they dont feel dry or go patchy which is a huge plus for me!

Let me know any of your favourite red shades below, I read and reply to everyone
