Loving the Brand - Chanel.

Continuing on with my 'Loving the Brand' series I have gone or a brand that I have accumulated bits of when I have felt like a real treat. Chanel is one of those brands that gives an experience whenever you go to the counter, everything feels special which adds to the purchase and to my love for their products.

Recently I did a post about a repurchase of the Tan de Soleil (here) which is a complete holy grail product for me as it gives the perfect amount of warmth to the skin and can be built up so even when I'm my ghostly pale self it looks natural.
In terms of mascara I will normally reach for natural bristle brushes as they suit my lashes better, but after hearing reviews I decided to give the Inimitable Intense mascara a try, it claims to give volume, length, curl and separation which all sounds rather amazing. I have been impressed with how this mascara makes my lashes look long and fluttery which I find hard to get from silicone bristles - this was definitely a special purchase for its expense but I like to keep it for special occasions when I want those false looking lashes,
Now for a purchase that wouldn't shock anyone, I had to invest a nude pink lipstick so when I saw the shade Boy from the Rouge Coco Shine range it was love at first sight. As the formula is more hydration based it doesn't last as long as matte shades however I always get dry lips so this is super comfortable for me to wear and is easy to top up during the day. I would recommend this shade to anyone as I feel like its one of those that would go with any makeup look and is perfect to be kept in a handbag.
Lastly is abit of a mad purchase that I have come to love and now will start considering shades from their permanent line. I picked up one the Long Lasting Eyeliners from the Spring collection in the shade Fervent Blue which is the most beautiful deep blue shade I have ever seen! I felt like a moth being drawn to a metallic blue super creamy flame - this could seem a completely mental shade to some but I have worn it with a simple black cat eye on the lid with this on the bottom lashline, I think its an effective way to add a pop of colour to your look without going for a bold smokey eye.

Holy Grail Repurchase.

So I'm welcoming the new year with not a new love but a repurchase of an old one - the Soleil Tan De Chanel has featured on my blog before and for good reason! As a beauty addict I tend to change up my routine quite often but this is the one product I use every day without fail.

This is a cream bronzer that blends beautifully on the skin and gives a sunkissed natural tan - I use this when I am my natural ghostly self or even when I have tan on and it suits me both ways as you can build it up without it going orange or cakey! I have also been impressed with how long it takes to get through one of these, I have had mine for about 18 months and have only just needed to get a backup. If you are in the market for a new bronzer but struggle to find one that doesnt make you orange then I would definitely give this one a go - although it is pricey the time it takes to get through one of these with daily use is worth the price tag.

I will always be looking for a more affordable dupe but so far I have had no luck!

Hope you all are having a great start to 2016, I read every comment and will answer any questions,
thanks for reading!

Complexion Perfection!

So the party season is upon us again, and the full coverage foundations, glittery eyeshadows and red lipsticks are being dusted off for their return. I have been looking for a flawless complexion duo for a while now and although I do have other foundations and concealers that I enjoy using these two new additions are my bit of luxury for when I need that perfected face.

Tom Ford is a brand I have always lusted after and really just signifies luxury to me, the packaging is always sleek and everything just feels special - which of course it should for its hefty price tag! Now for the foundation I chose to try the Traceless Perfecting Foundation which once applied gives a luminous glow to the skin, and although it feels lightweight the coverage is exactly how I like it - covers everything whilst still looking like your own skin. I have tried applying this base with a brush and RT sponge and it works well with  both, the brush gives a higher coverage but the sponge creates a seamless finish, so for the most perfected look I tend to use both.
Then onto concealer which if you're blessed with good skin you can skip however my genetic dark circles (thanks mom!) mean I have to keep one in my routine, so I figured why not try the Concealing Pen which is a twist up and a sponge top applicator which I am really liking for when I need to do touch ups during the day. Similar to the foundation the formula is lightweight yet pigmented and has no problem brightening my undereye area so definitely one to try if you have the same concerns.

Often with luxury beauty products I have some speculation about if its going to be worth the bruise to my bank card but these have been totally worth it to me. I certainly wont be wearing them everyday but im finding being able to reach for them when I have somewhere more special to go or if I'm having a bad time with my skin to be a great option and I would really recommend them for anyone that doesn't mind the splurge!

HUGE Haul!!

So I've recently got back off holiday and have definitely done some damage to my poor bank account! I did pick some of these things from duty free, and the others I have got are either from my work (Superdrug) or Debenhams as they currently have 10% off all beauty so I did make some really good savings! (trying to validate this haul to myself) There is quite a lot to get through so I'll just put short descriptions of each product, if you would like a review post on any of these then please leave a comment below.

First is the Cargo Cosmetics 'Back to Nature' palette; I wasn't planning on buying anymore eyeshadows as my palette collection is getting abit extensive and there isn't many colours that I dont have, however I really like all of these shades and there isn't one thats going untouched which is so unual for a non custom palette. The shades are all really pigmented and blend beautifully, there is a variation of finishes including, matte, metallic, satin and glitter.

Obviously I had to pick up some lip products as they are definitely my weakness! I finally picked up Mac's Creme Cup which I got from duty free and used everyday on holiday, it really is a perfect everyday pink. I then bought one of the new L'Oreal Privee Reds collection lipsticks which is Julianne's, this is the pinkest of the range and is the formula of this lipstick is a-maz-ing! Finally I bought my first Bobbi Brown lipstick in the shade Tulle, again a really lovely everyday shade, and beautiful with a smoked bronze eye.

For face products I had quite a major splurge; after alot of deliberation I persuaded to buy myself the Chanel  Soleil De Tan which is a cream based bronzer and is just beautiful. I decided to try one of Mac's MSF Naturals which is fast becoming my favourite face powder. For a blush I bought an Estee Lauder in Peach Passion, the shade looks much pinker on the camera as its a beautiful coral/peach.

Skincare wise I've tried three new products to me which I have wanted to try but needed to finish others first. I'm super lazy with moisturising my body so I got the Spray & Go by Vaseline to try and make it more convenient and quick for the winter months. The Estee Lauder 3in1 Cleanser is something I've heard alot about and have been excited to try as its difficult to find facial care products that dont cause my sensitive skin to get irritated. Finally I bought the L'Oreal Skin Perfection Serum, I used the BB cream from this range last year and really loved it so hoping that I will enjoy this just as much.

The last items I bought were two perfumes both from duty free, I got Down Town by Calvin Klein which I used to wear at work all the time, it's a really light, pretty scent but has great longevity. I then tried a scent I've never had before, Victoria's Secret's fragrance Victoria, this is super girly and with the base note of Creme Brule, perfect for the winter months!

And thats it! Thanks for reading, please leave any comments below, I read and reply to everyone!
