Sheer Nude Nails.

Now if I'm being honest I am actually a huge fan of dark nails, I always gravitate to those sultry smokey shades when I'm perusing the beauty isles - however I HATE the way they look when they chip, they are the most obvious colours when they have seen their best days so I decided to go well outside of my comfort zone, and I must say I have been pleasantly surprised.

I first shade I tried like this was Dior's Lili which is a sheer pinky nude that has a very glossy finish and just looks like perfected nails, the brush makes it easy and quick to apply so I've been loving being able to having a quick manicure with this one.
The closest highstreet buy to this one that I have found so far is Essie's Birthday Suit, a cult favourite for all the right reasons, I would say this one is slightly more sheer but I actually have been preferring that look recently.
For a more opaque polish Essie's Urban Jungle is a more grey/white tone that gives a more intense finish - I like this one instead of a clean white as it is more complimentary on my skintone when I'm more pale.

I've seen lots of these types of shades from different brands so if you have any recommendations then please them in the comments below -

Too Faced: Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar

Did I really need another neutral palette? Yes is the answer! I have always been interested in the Too Faced Chocolate bars as they have a colour pop theme in each one - the original has a wine/purple theme to it whilst the semi-sweet has a beautiful bold blue that is stunning mixed with the warm caramels.
The palette is made up of a mix of mattes and shimmers all of which are amazingly pigmented and blend really well, I have been using this for about 2 weeks and have done daytime barely there looks to a full on birthday smokey eye. I do have a favourite shade that basically made me buy the palette and that is Peanut Butter; I cannot get over how perfect this shadow is for the crease, I have been using Coconut Creme all over the lid from lash to brow, then Mousse in the crease, with LOTS of Peanut Butter on top with Bon Bon placed on the inner two thirds of the lid to add abit of sparkle for my go-to daytime look.

I will be doing a few looks from this palette to show its diversity in a future post and how if you're in the market for that one palette that you can create a load of looks and not lack inspiration!

Current Faves.

So although around now I should be doing my January favourites, I haven't really got any products that I have just started loving so I thought I would do a post on some staples that I have been picking up alot over the recent couple of months.
For makeup I have two products that I have become obsessed with recently and the first is the Tom Ford lipstick in Spanish Pink - now I am a sucker for a nude pink, I probably own enough to set up my own store, so why buy another one? Honestly, I was intrigued by the price tag as I couldnt understand how a lipstick could be worth £38 it seemed completely insane to me so I wanted to see what the fuss was all about, and well... I get it. The lipstick is super creamy and pigmented and the shade I have is my everyday shade that I can put on with any makeup look - my advice would be to buy a shade you will get a lot of wear out of as although a vibrant red might look beautiful but you dont want nearly £40 worth of lipstick being put away in a drawer from not being used very often. My next favourite is a foundation and this is a weird one for me as I really did not get on with this when I first tried it 4 years ago however I wanted to try a full coverage foundation and figured I might aswell give it another try and I am so glad I did. If you have very dry skin I really would stay clear of this foundation as that was my problem when I first tried it however my skin has now balanced much more and I find this wears beautifully throughout the day, I can go a day at work and not need to touch up my base (round of applause!) which is completely new to me - im super impressed with this and will be doing a full review on it soon.

I now have a fragrance favourite and this is certainly not new to me however I have rekindled my love for it over the Christmas months. Jo Malone's signature scent in Pomegranate Noir is such a distinct perfume, it has a comforting warmth that I absolutely love, the first time I wore it was on my 21st birthday so its become abit nostalgic aswell now.

And finally for my life changer! And no im not being over dramatic this lip balm is completely amazing. I know I am pretty late to the party on this one but I am converted - Nuxe's Reve De Miel Balm is like a mask for your lips. I suffer from cracked dry lips all year round so when I want to wear a bold lipstick I tend to just give up as it never looks very nice however if I apply this balm in the morning and when I go to bed at night my lips stay hydrated and comfortable all day. I cannot rave about this one enough - if you suffer from dry lips and have tried pretty much everything, check this one out!!

So thats it for this post, thanks for reading, please leave any comments or questions below!

Quick and Easy Smokey Eye.

I am a major fan of an intense smokey eye look however I'm not so fond of the time it takes to achieve, so when I found this quick and easy way of creating a similar look I figured I may aswell share it - so here goes!

For any smokey eye I use an eye primer and for this look I used the Urban Decay Primer Potion as it locks the shadows in place for long wear! I then reached for my Clinique gel liner in Black Honey but you can use any shade of gel liner which is the main thing I love about this look, the same steps can be used in any colour, a black gel can create a gorgeous smokey eye in the same way as I have done this look and is great for the holiday season. However the Black Honey shade is this beautiful purple toned brown with gold running through it - I pat this on and keep adding layers to create as much intensity as I want I then blend the edges with a fluffy brush so theres no harsh lines.
For the second step I used a similar toned shadow and placed this over the top, this helps set the gel liner and again add more intensity. For my look I used the mid brown shade in the Morning Java palette from Clinique which has that similar purple undertone running through. To add abit more depth I then picked up a small amount of the darkest shade in the palette and placed this on the outer corner and blended the excess into the crease. I then took the same two colour on a small shader brush and took it under the eye to bring it all together!
To finish I used lots of mascara and right now I keep reaching for the Max Factor Velvet Volume mascara which does exactly what it says on the tin, I have also found it really extends my lashes whilst leaving them feeling soft rather than others that can feel stiff and uncomfortable on the eyes.

I'm really enjoying wearing this look at the moment and will definitely be trying it in different colours to see how many different looks I can achieve (stay tuned!) I hope you enjoyed this post - I read every comment and will reply to any questions!

Current Loves.

Each month I like to try and mix up my make-up routine and this month I have decided to give a couple of newer products in my collection a go. The Dior BB Creme has been a favourite base of mine for a while, and is one I often reach for on days off, as it's so lightweight but gives great coverage. I have tried out one of the new Eyes to Hypnotise by Charlotte Tilbury, I got it in The Huntress which is the bronzey shade that works beautifully with the Dolce Vita palette- it also came with a liner in the shade Amber Haze which again is a bronze, lovely for the winter season. Another newbie to my collection is the Kiko Moon Dust face powder in Mysterious Pink which is my perfect blush, it's a neutral/warm toned pink marbled with a subtle gold glow, this looks gorgeous when it hits the light and saves time in your routine as you dont have to use a highlighter on top! Lastly, it has to be a berry lip and these Lip Pops from Clinique are perfect as the primer infused formula allows them to wear longer and more evenly which is great with darker shades, my favourite at the moment is Berry Pop however Rebel Pop is on my list next!

Clinique Chubby Eyeshadow Sticks: Review.

For a girl that is makeup obsessed I can often be in the mood for getting out several palettes and 10 blending brushes to achieve a new eye look however I also have a bit of a lazy side that calls for something with less maitenance yet still gives a polished look and I think I have found the answer.

Every brand these days seems to have come out with eyeshadow sticks and I have tried a fair few yet there is one brand that really stood out in terms of the ease of application and blendability and they are the Chubby Sticks for Eyes from Clinique. What I love about these is the way you can go from a sheer wash of colour to a much bolder statement without taking half an hour and arm ache from all the blending. These also prove to be great bases for pigments or for sheerer eyeshadows if you want to add more depth.

L-R: Biggest Blossom..Ample Amber..Whopping Willow..Fuller Fudge..Oversized Orchid..Lavish Lilac.

Out of the six shades I own, Biggest Blossom and Ample Amber are my favourite shades both leaning towards the rose gold/copper tone that I love. Whopping Willow would be great for anyone who loves Sumptuous Olive by Mac as it has similar tones within it and is a perfect shade for the Autumn season. Fuller Fudge is one I had to pick up - a rich brown with hints of barely there gold, I've used this on its own for a quick smokey eye. Finally the purples, I find myself reaching for purples alot so it seemed logical to try these out, Lavish Lilac is more of a mauve tone and would look lovely with greys while Oversized Orchid is more vibrant and a shade I lean more towards in the summer months.

If you're looking for a quick and easy way to play around with eyeshadows I would definitely recommend giving these a go - there is a decent range of shades all of which have great pigmentation, I do think they could do with adding a matte black as I think alot of people would get use out of that shade.

The Berry Lip Trend.

On a day to day basis I am a nude lip kinda girl however when it comes to the colder months and richer colours come back into season I cant help but delve into my collection and grab those plummy shades. I have a couple that are my holy grail Autumnal lip shades that I reach for every year and also some more recent purchases.

In terms of finish I do tend to prefer a matte or satin as I find the darker shades wear better in those formulas, although I often suffer from dry lips so I just place some Elizabeth Arden 8 hour lip balm on before to keep them hydrated. I also tend to use lipliners with most of these shades to get a cleaner line and to stop any colour bleeding.

L-R: Charlotte Tilbury; Night Crimson..Rimmel; 107..Revlon; Fiery Flamboyante..Mac; Dark Side..Nars; Cruella.

*Charlotte Tilbury in Night Crimson - I LOVE this lipstick, the colour, the formula, the packaging, it's just perfection! The longevity of this product is very impressive and wears off evenly so none of that patchy lip situation going on! Although these lipsticks are at the higher end of the price scale they are worth the hype if you're looking for that one perfect lipstick.

*Rimmel Kate Moss in 107 - I dont think there will ever be an Autumn lip edit without this one featured. The quality of this lipstick for the price is outstanding and delivers everything you need for Fall. I am now on my third purchase of this shade and will continue to repurchase as it is such a great buy!

*Revlon Matte Balm in Fiery Flamboyante - A very new purchase for me, I'm pretty sure this is a new shade as I had never seen it before. I have a couple of these already and adore the consistency, they are perfect for quick and easy application aswell as being comfortable to wear and give great pigmentation.

*Mac in Dark Side - I had to include a Mac shade, although I have quite a collection I dont reach for them as often as I used to, yet I do love the colour range that they do. Dark Side is the newest to my collection and is one I have been reaching for, contrary to its name this is wearable shade and isn't quite as scary as it sounds, I've found patting it down to more of a stain with a balm on top looks really pretty if you want something more subtle.

*Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella - The perfect red. There is no better way to explain this shade, it is definitely a bold statement and is not for the faint hearted if you're nervous of trying a bolder shade however if you're looking for that classic red then you can stop right here because everything you need is in this lip pencil. My only criticism would be it is slightly drying on the lips and therefore does need a balm underneath, but I tend to wear one anyway so its not really a problem.

Thanks for reading, as always I read all comments and answer any questions - let me know any autumn favourites you have so I can check them out!

Bleach London: Rose Shampoo/Conditioner

For a while now I have had plum toned hair which I love but takes alot of upkeep with roots and vibrance or it just looks abit of a mess. Recently I started looking for ways to tone and maintain the colour of my hair to increase the amount of time between dying and the answer came in an unusual product.

I am well aware the Bleach London range is for what is says on the tin 'bleach blondes' or light coloured hair, however I originally bought their shade Bruised Violet to put on top of my brown hair to tint it slightly and after a great experience with that I dyed it a similar colour permanently. Using their non permanent hair dyes is effective but time consuming since I have to apply to dry hair and leave it for a decent amount of time to get the colour payoff so I looked for an easier alternative.
The rose shampoo and conditioner when used on platinum blonde hair can leave a milky pink tone which is super pretty and tones the blonde at the same time. However I bought the products to try and reduce my hairs tendancy toward going red/ginger as it pink colouring vamps up the purple in my hair and keeps it the colour I want it to be. When using these, I always use them together and will leave both on for a number of minutes and massage in to make sure I get as much from it as possible.

If you are looking to try a different colour or have purple/pink tones like myself and want to keep them vibrant then give these a go. I would highly recommend the range to anyone, as the Bruised Violet shade was even noticable on my dark brown hair.

Let me know of any other ways to maintain the hair colour, any advice is always appreciated! I read every comment and will answer any questions!

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Review.

I think its safe to say that most girls go through a period of wanting long hair, which is great if you're one of the lucky few that can grow it quickly but for me its not so easy. I've always liked having longer hair but I also enjoy changing the colour and style which can and has damaged my hair - Last summer I had 4 inches cut off my hair as I had been dip dying my hair for about 6 months and my ends were super dry and just needed to come off. Although I was glad to have healthy hair again I did feel upset that I had lost so much length and decided to look for a treatment that could help.

I eventually came across the Lee Stafford Hair Growth range, I initially bought the shampoo, conditioner and the treatment I got them on 3 for £15 which saves alot of money. After a few months of testing I found the shampoo was the most effective of the range in terms of increasing hair growth and I didnt really enjoy the conditioner. The treatment is something I would recommend to anyone, as its the best mask/treatment I have ever used on my hair and keeps it in great condition.

Its now been roughly a year and I havent had my hair cut in that time, my hair has grown back to its previous length and further and is in much better condition. I would like to say though that I rarely use heat on my hair, I usually let my hair dry naturally and will only used heat tools when Im going out so that will contribute to the health of my hair. It is also not a miracle product, it definitely isnt going to turn you into Rapunzel after one shower however I find that because it looks after the hair so well and keeps it so nourished that it encourages more hair growth, obviously how quick this happens will depend on the individual.

I hope this helps if anyone is looking into these products, I have used similar items such as Fast Shampoo & Conditioner which did not work for me and made my hair and scalp really dry. I find vitamins can help but work far more on my nails and skin than my hair. The Lee Stafford range is worth a try for anyone even if you just want to improve the health of your hair, I wouldnt call it a miracle product but more like a helping hand.

Max Factor Excess Shimmer: Copper

Even though many may think glitter and shimmer is something to be kept for the festive season or a night out, I really like to use the more subtle glitz for an everyday look and when these Excess Shimmers were released I had to give them a try. They are a cream based shadow that once applies feels more like a powder, its super pigmented and only takes one swipe across the eyes, so if you're looking for something quick and easy to put in your makeup routine this may be the shadow for you!

There are some really pretty shades in the collection but when I swatched the shade Copper I had to pick it up. For me the name Copper is slightly decieving as it is more of a mauve but still a beautiful colour and would suit any skintone. I would really like them to bring out some more spring toned shades for the upcoming season as I think the metallic with shimmer just catches the light and is just enough if you want to give your everyday routine abit of sparkle without the maintenance.

These retail for £7.99 but are nearly always on some sort of promotion, I got mine from Superdrug when they had £3 off selected lines so for about £5 I thought this was a complete bargain! I would highly recommend these and think they are a great addition to anyones makeup bag.

Let me know in the comments if you have tried any of the Max Factor Excess Shimmers and what you thought about them. I read every comment and will reply to any questions!

Spring Releases.

As the whole festive season is well and truly over, all the new Spring collections have overtaken the make-up stands and I have to say there are some pretty beautiful collections going around. The Maybelline new releases though really caught my eye, I dont normally buy much from Maybelline but they have released some really lovely products for the new season.

Other than Maybelline I spotted the Makeup Revolution 'The One Matte Stick' in the shade Malibu which is a matte cream bronzer. In appearance these are a dupe for the Nars Multiple and consistency is quite similar aswell; I picked this shade as I wanted to give it a go for contouring. However these are SUPER pigmented and this shade is quite dark so a light hand is necessary, these do blend really nicely so with abit of work it even worked on my ghostly skintone!

Now from Maybelline I picked up their new mascara, 'Lash Sensational' I have tried this and it is good but not my favourite, I really had high hopes for this as I had seen such great reviews but I think it is such an individual thing and this just wasn't quite right.
Secondly I had to pick up one of the new lipsticks to feed my obsession with all things lips. The shade I got was '168 Petal Pink' which is pretty much what it says on the tin, just a really pretty light pink, very summery and bright.
Lastly I reached for one of the new Colour Show polishes and was not dissapointed! The shade is 'Bouquet' and put over a light pink/lilac is just super pretty and very seasonal, it applies pink and white with rose gold to create a floral effect. I can see me using this alot of the upcoming months!

Let me know if you have picked anyrhing up from the new releases for Spring! I read all the comments and will reply to any questions.

Mini Haul

So this past week all the promotions changed at work meaning all new offers on make-up and this month there are some really great buys that I had to get my hands on! Everything I bought is from Superdrug apart from one item which I will talk about at the end.

1. L'Oreal Nude Magique Eau De Teint Foundation - I've always liked L'Oreal as a brand and the True Match foundation is fast becoming a holy grail for me however this particular base never really caught my eye as it was £9.99 which for 20ml is abit steep considering its a highstreet brand. But now it is only £4.99 which to me is super afforable and well worth a go, I have tried it once and do like it, the texture reminds me of the new YSL Fusion Ink but is more sheer coverage.

2. L'Oreal Collection Nudes in 'Eva' - I already have two of the other shades from this collection and one of the reds, they all have such a lovely formula and wear really nicely. Also now down to £4.99 I couldn't resist picking one up, this is a more peachy brown nude and looks great with a tan.

3. Revlon Colourburst Balm Stain in 'Honey' - A blogger favourite and one that I have had my eyes on for a while but never actually bit the bullet. This is a really pretty nude pink that is great for everyday, a 'my lips but better' shade that is sheer and comfortable to wear. All Revlon lip products are £5 so I can see my collection getting a little bigger over the next month...

4. Max Factor Colour Elixir Lip Liner in 'Brown n Nude' - I'm currently in a bit of a lipliner craze at the moment, (im blaming Kylie Jenner for this!) These from Max Factor are super creamy and pigmented, this shade is as it says a nude brown shade, pretty much what it says on the tin.

5. Bourjois Healthy Mix Powder - This is just a rebuy of my favourite face powder, the formula of this is just amazing, it lasts all day on my skin and doesn't go cakey at all. The finish is really natural and mixes well with all of my foundations.

6. Milani Baked Blush in 'Luminoso' - My random purchase is this beautiful blush from Milani, I actually found this on Amazon and have had it in my basket for a while now and have read so many reviews about how great it looks on the skin. This is a peach shade with a gold sheen running through it that when applied to the skin just looks really natural.

So thats my haul, I will be reviewing some of the products over the next couple of weeks, let me know of anything youre loving right now and would recommend. I read all the comments and will reply to any questions.

2014 Favourites

Where has this year gone? I cant quite believe its time to write this post, but here we are days before we enter 2015 and start a whole new year! I decided that instead of doing a December favourites I would do a 2014 favourites, as there is quite a few things that I have really loved this year and think they are worth a mention. I have got a few beauty products first (obviously!) and then just a couple of random ones that I've just really enjoyed.

First off I'll start with the base products that I have found this year and are now complete staples in my everyday routine. L'Oreal's True Match was blogger influenced by reading such amazing things and needing a cheaper alternative to my YSL bases I chose to give this a go and I LOVE it! The finish is so lovely and is buildable without going cakey, it doesn't move all day and the shade match is just amazing. Secondly I picked up The Time Balm Concealer by TheBalm, this is a high cover concealer in a pot and literally covers everything, I use this everyday even if I dont wear base. Finally I started using the Maybelline Eraser Eye in the clear and red packaging about 2 years ago and loved it, I had hear about the lightening one but it was impossible to find in the UK until earlier this year a guy who runs a make-up stall in a market near me had a full basket of them so I had to pick one up (or 3...) the finish of this is so beautiful, and gives a really awakened look under the eyes.

L-R: Chic, Aurora, Exotic Island, Heart Skips a Beat, Misltoe Kisses, Enchanted Forest.
Now this represents a whole brand, the Tanya Burr Cosmetics collection has to be my favourite releases of 2014; From the nail varnishes to lipglosses to eyelashes, I love them all. The lipglosses do have an edge for me though, as I'm not the biggest fan of the whole hair stuck to face effect I tend to give them a miss, but these are so lovely and feel really moisturising. My favourite shade is definitely Enchanted Forest, this over Mac's Rebel has been my most used lip combination in December.

My last beauty favourite is this perfume from Next called Gold. I picked this up at the start of December just looking for one I can wear everyday and not worry about the price tag as this 75ml set was £14!
Top Notes: Grapefruit, Mandarin
Heart: Ylang Ylang, Muguet
Base: Musk, Amber
As soon as I saw the notes of this perfume I had to give it a go it just sounded like a fragrance I would love, and I wasn't wrong. this goes to a really warm sweet scent on me without going down the candy scent route. The amber is probably the most prominent note on me and lasts for such a long time. I would recommend Next scents to anyone, their range is great and for such an affordable price.

For my first non-beauty product I had to feature this Yankee Candle scent. Candy Cane Lane has to be my all time favourite candle scent ever! And that is saying alot, I have already burnt 2 of the Votive versions of this and have a back up plus these two jars (yes im obsessed) I just cant get enough of the sweet mint scent that it gives, really festive and also quite fresh. The best way for me to describe this is probably the smell of an After Eight chocolate, just that subtle mint wrapped in a real sweetness, just lovely.

Finally is Ed Sheeran's album X, this album is always on repeat, no matter what mood I'm in I just find this so relaxing and uplifting. My favourite songs off the album would probably be, Thinking Out Loud, Tenerife Sea and Afire Love, all beautiful and just lovely songs.

So thats it for my 2014 favourites, I have loved loads of things this year but didnt want to make this post so long to read you would be here till 2016! I hope you've had a great Christmas and have a fantastic New Year, let me know any of your 2014 favourites in the comments below, I read every one and reply to any questions.

See you next year!

Topshop Glow Highlighter.

I've heard alot about the Topshop make-up range and have tried bits and pieces but nothing has ever really stood out to me however I had read quite a few reviews on the Glow Cream Highlighter in the shade Gleam and while in the store I figured I may aswell have a quick swatch to see what all the fuss is about.

In the stores fantastic lighting (slight sarcasm there) it appeared to be a very pretty gold highlighter, nothing amazing but it was pretty and for the price of £9 I decided to try it out at home in better lighting to see if it looked abit more special there.

On camera the swatch looks very yellow gold but in person it is more rose toned and doesnt need to be applied quite as heavy however I use it at this intensity on my eyes if I'm in a rush as it works really nicely as a cream shadow. On the cheeks it is an intense highlighter but looks really beautiful as long as its blended and your not too heavy handed, I love using it with a brown smokey eye and a nude lip.

I'm really glad I decided to actually go ahead and buy this as it does look super pretty and is abit of a multi use if you use it on your eyes aswell. I now want to try the Velvet Lips from the Topshop range as I've heard really good things about those aswell.

Let me know if you've tried the Topshop range and if so what you would recommend - please leave any comments below I read every one and will reply to any questions.

That Kylie Jenner Lip.

For the last few months the beauty blogging world has been consumed with posts on the infamous 'Kylie Jenner lip' and although we know she uses a Mac lip liner to create her perfect pout, we can still find our own adaptions so here is my collection of products that I've found work and give a similar effect.

Firstly I have a Mac lipstick, mine is in the shade Mehr and is that mauvey/pink/brown shade its a matte formula so does give a similar look to that of Kylie's, I've had this for a while now and was using it as an everyday shade then when the Jenner lip hype occurred it seemed to fit quite nicely.

Next theres a Revlon Matte Balm in the shade Elusive, this is the pinkest shade of all the products that I have chosen, it's just a nice nude pink and would maybe be a good way for lighter haired girls to pull off the look. It does have that more mauve look to it aswell though and of course being matte it does tick alot of the boxes needed to achieve this trend.

My favourite choice for this look is the Bourjois Rouge Velvet in Nude-ist. This is just perfect for how I wanted to achieve this look, I love these anyway but the fact they have this particular shade is even better. The formula of these are so good, a really comfortable matte product to wear and have great longevity.

Finally a lipliner, this is a Sleek liner in the shade Lingerie and this does not budge! It's really creamy and comfortable on the lips but super matte and the colour is so pretty, I've been using this alot lately and have really liked it.

L-R: Mac Mehr...Revlon Elusive...Bourjois Nude-ist...Sleek Lingerie.

Mac Rebel Dupe For £1!

I always get excited when I find more affordable dupes for popular more expensive products and ever since Makeup Revolution came to my work I have found so many! They have the Iconic palettes which are exact dupes for the Urban Decay Naked Palettes except Revolution's are only £4 saving you £33 which is just amazing.

Now for todays post I am soooo happy to have found a drugstore dupe for Mac's Rebel, I know that many brands have their berry shades and all have a similar idea of what Rebel looks like but this is an exact colour match for £14.50 less than Mac! The Revolution shade is from their Vamp range and is called Rebel With Cause; the only difference between the two products is the formula, both are super pigmented but the Revolution shade is more creamy, it does last a good amount of time on the lips but does wear off a slight bit quicker than Mac's but not enough to warrant such a price difference.

Mac Rebel... Revolution Rebel With Cause.

My advice would be if you're looking to dupe a product especially from Urban Decay or Mac go and give Makeup Revolution a try, they would also make great stocking fillers for makeup lovers or for younger girls starting out in makeup as you get such great quality for such an affordable price!

Let me know if you've used any Revolution products and what you thought in the comments below, I read and reply to everyone!

Back To School Make-up

Now September is in full swing, I've been remembering having to get back into getting up at 7am and having snooze on my alarm 7 times before I would actually get up, putting on that dreaded uniform and eventually getting to school in time to start the day. But the one thing I was thinking about was how long I used to take on my make-up because I simply didn't have my go-to products, I would just use whatever and that would take longer as I often wouldn't like the look I came up with, so with that in mind I've decided to write a post on a few products that I would recommend to anyone that is struggling with what to use.

All the products that I used are available at Superdrug so aren't too expensive. First off is my foundation, this isn't my favourite drugstore foundation as I actually prefer Bourjois Healthy Mix but mine is currently packed for holiday so I used the L'oreal Lumi Magique foundation which gives a nice dewy glow. I used a bronzer and highlighter from Make-up Revolution these are amazing value! My concealer is my all time favourite Collection's Lasting Perfection again another bargain. For my powder I used Bourjois' Rice Powder, this is such an incredible product and looks amazing with a dewy finish foundation. For my eyes I used a L'oreal Colour Infallible in Coconut Shake this a matte cream with a slight sheen,  I have actually used a Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Eternal Pink aswell but completely forgot to put that in the photo. For my liner I used the Maybelline Master Smoky in Smoky Chocolate and the mascara was one of my favourite waterproof mascaras as it doesnt budge at all, the Maybelline Great Lash. My eyebrows were the Maybelline Mastershape Brow Pencil, this isn't a product I favour and do much prefer using my Mac eyeshadow but wanted to keep all the products more affordable. And lastly for my lips I used one of the new Baby Lips in Stereo Rose which is super pretty for a sheer hint of colour.

So this is my finished look, it didnt take me long to do this at all, I think about 10 minutes and I'm pretty happy with the result, I think its definitely enough for school or for anyone who wants a quick and easy routine to try out!

Hope you enjoyed this post, please leave any comments below I love reading your thoughts and will reply to everyone!

Highstreet Must Haves!

Although I normally reach for my high end products there are certain high-street brands that have some amazing finds that I would use over any expensive equivalent. There are many other low end products that I enjoy using and do on a regular basis but these are the few that I really was amazed by.

Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation was new to me earlier this year and if I had to use a drugstore foundation this would be the only one. It has really good coverage but doesn't feel heavy on your face, it blends really well and the colour match is perfect for me. The only problem I would say is if you are darker skinned the range doesn't seem to have much choice.

A blogger favourite now; the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. I cannot tell you how much I love this product it is SO good!! (seriously!) For someone with panda eye syndrome (dark circles) it is a complete life saver, its consistency and coverage are excellent and it just blends with all my different foundations. If there was any one product I would recommend the most it would be this one.

Staying with face products the following three are a face powder, a bronzer and a blush/ highlighter. Firstly is the loose No7 powder, I have searched for a loose powder that doesn't go cakey and just adds that flawless touch to my make up without costing a fortune for sooo long! And this little number by Boots' own brand is the best one I've tried so far. The bronzer is by my new favourite drugstore brand Make up Revolution; their whole range is outstanding for the price but their baked products are giving my mac skinfinishes a run for their money, they apply really well and can last all day without coming off or going patchy and all for £4! And lastly for face products is Revlon's highlighting palette in Rose Glow, this is a dupe for the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks and is lovely for a fresh faced look.

Maybelline colour tattoo's are really great products and do stay on my eyes all day, they blend really well and do come in some lovely colours, my only issue is they don't do matte shades which would appeal more to me personally.

Lastly is the Revlon Lip Butters, my collection of these is constantly growing and there is always at least one in my handbag as they are so convenient. The pigmentation in them is really good and as they are buildable you can decide how bright or sheer you want it to look. These will definitely be a staple for me during the colder months to help avoid those dry lips!

Those are my high-street must haves, I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know of any drugstore finds you love in the comments below :)
