Complexion Perfection!

So the party season is upon us again, and the full coverage foundations, glittery eyeshadows and red lipsticks are being dusted off for their return. I have been looking for a flawless complexion duo for a while now and although I do have other foundations and concealers that I enjoy using these two new additions are my bit of luxury for when I need that perfected face.

Tom Ford is a brand I have always lusted after and really just signifies luxury to me, the packaging is always sleek and everything just feels special - which of course it should for its hefty price tag! Now for the foundation I chose to try the Traceless Perfecting Foundation which once applied gives a luminous glow to the skin, and although it feels lightweight the coverage is exactly how I like it - covers everything whilst still looking like your own skin. I have tried applying this base with a brush and RT sponge and it works well with  both, the brush gives a higher coverage but the sponge creates a seamless finish, so for the most perfected look I tend to use both.
Then onto concealer which if you're blessed with good skin you can skip however my genetic dark circles (thanks mom!) mean I have to keep one in my routine, so I figured why not try the Concealing Pen which is a twist up and a sponge top applicator which I am really liking for when I need to do touch ups during the day. Similar to the foundation the formula is lightweight yet pigmented and has no problem brightening my undereye area so definitely one to try if you have the same concerns.

Often with luxury beauty products I have some speculation about if its going to be worth the bruise to my bank card but these have been totally worth it to me. I certainly wont be wearing them everyday but im finding being able to reach for them when I have somewhere more special to go or if I'm having a bad time with my skin to be a great option and I would really recommend them for anyone that doesn't mind the splurge!

Space.NK Mini Splurge

I have always wanted to visit a Space.NK store and on tuesday I finally managed to make the time to visit the one nearest to me. I was really excited as they store so many amazing brands that you cant really find anywhere else unless you go online which when it comes to make-up I try not to do especially for products from high end brands. I did only buy two items so this will be quite a short post, however I have tried them now so I can give you abit of a first impression.

I first grabbed this illuminator by Nars in the shade Copacabana, I had seen a few reviews on this and wanted to give it a try for myself. When I swatched it in the store I knew I needed to have it, this adds such a beautiful sheen to the skin and you need the tiniest amount so it will last ages! I do normally go for powder highlights as I have found creamier ones to move my foundation round and go patchy but I have had no such problems with this one, I tried this on yesterday and it blended really nicely. I would recommend this if you want a more healthy glow/natural hint of light rather than the full on Kardashian look.

My other purchase is something very special and again is something I've really wanted to get my hands on but never took the plunge. The shade I got is 04 Bronze Moon, which is a deep brown/bronze shade and looks amazing when used all over the lid and on the bottom lashline with lots of mascara; definitly a look I will be wearing alot! These are so simple to apply, I just pop it all over my lid then blend it out with my finger and do the same on the bottom, it takes seconds to do but looks beautiful once done. These are an expensive buy but there is alot of product inside and you only need a light touch as they are so pigmented so they will last, and are well worth the purchase if it would be an everyday holy grail like I can see it becoming for me!

So that is it for my mini splurge, I can do full reviews on these if that is something anyone would be interested in, I read all comments and will reply to any questions.

Dupe Alert.

I think everyone in the beauty world has now heard of the By Terry Ombre Blackstar eyeshadow sticks that at a quite substantial £28 each would leave a dent in most peoples pockets. I am definitely guilty for checking a few of those shades out, putting them in my basket but thankfully always shutting my laptop off before I took the plunge as they are beautiful, the product, the packaging they are completely luxurious to have.

However a quick trip to Tesco and of course the make-up isle brought me to this amazing super cheap dupe by Babara Daly. These Shimmer Sticks come in I think four shades and are a fraction of the price at £3 meaning you could have all of the shades for less than one Blackstar and still have quite a bit of change!

The shade I got is Shell and is a beautiful soft gold shade that isn't glittery but more of a sheen, these are really blendable and pigmented, they can be built up to a very opaque glamourous eye or just a touch of shimmer to perk up an everyday look. I'm definitely going to get the rest of this range as they are such good value and will add that bit of sparkle that I love this time of year!

Let me know if you've found any dupes lately, I read and reply to everyone
