My Gym Face.

Ok so I am bracing myself for a slap on the wrist for writing this post but I know from going to the gym that I am not the only girl that puts a little something on her face before working out so I figured I would do a post about what I use and what I have found to not cause any breakouts or look like a hot mess (quite literally) when I leave.

So the main thing I will always wear is a tinted moisturiser, I either use the YSL Skintone Perfector or the Estee Lauder Sheer Tint as they provide light coverage that looks after my skin but evens it out at the same time. I use this as it doesnt really feel like makeup and isn't like wearing Double Wear for instance - it lets the skin breathe while giving that extra bit of confidence.

Concealer is not something I will always wear, but if I'm having a particularly rough patch with my skin and either have some blemishes that are crazy obvious or dark circles that make me look like I haven't slept in 10 years then I will reach for my Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer, this one is lightweight but great coverage and doesn't look cakey or thick.

Staying with Bourjois and their Healthy Mix range, their powder is a staple for me everyday no matter what makeup look I am wearing, however all I do when I go to the gym is dust a little over my T-Zone just to keep the base from sliding around and it just keeps it looking fresh.

This next step is super optional and definitely depends on how good the shape of your brows are but mine are just loving making my life difficult right now so I pretty much rely on the L'Oreal Brow Artiste to keep them looking somewhat reasonable, however if I was blessed with good brows I would skip this step.

I pretty much always wear mascara, I'm not particularly faithful to just one, I do really love Lancome Hypnose but will try others and at the moment I'm giving the new Maybelline Lash Sensational a go and I do actually really like it, its not my absolute favourite but does lengthen my lashes quite abit which is nice when you want a more natural look - I'm pretty sure you could add a couple of coats for more vampy looks but I haven't tried that yet.

Lastly is a lip balm of some sort, I've put my Dior Lip Maximiser is the picture as its the one I use pretty much constantly right now. I do however use anything that I know will keep my lips moisturised and comfortable for a decent amount of time without being greasy or sticky.

So that's it for my 'gym face' products, I know that you really shouldn't wear any make-up when working out and embrace the naked face but if you're not feeling quite so confident I think finding products that will let your skin breathe, keep it moisturised and aren't pore blocking are the best way to go.

YSL Volupte Tint-in-Oil

I have loved the YSL range for a long time and have never been dissapointed by any of the products that I have tried, and this is no expection! When I first heard about these the idea of having oil on my lips was not something I was at all interested in, it sounded greasy and uncomfortable, but I was so wrong. For someone who suffers from really dry lips, anything that will improve that while giving me a wash of colour is definitly worth a try.

The shade I decided to try was 'Papa Dont Peach'/ 06, it does come out fairly pink on me so not quite the shade I imagined but I do have dark lips to start off with so its quite hard to have a sheer product make a big difference. The formula of these is incredible, its sheer and moisturising and gives an even cover of colour that gets darker over a few minutes to adapt to your natural lip shade. They are made up of 5 nourishing oils, apricot kernel oil, macadamia seed oil, coriander fruit oil, jojoba seed oil and passion flower oil - which brings me to the scent of these, the passion flower and apricot makes it smell sweet and fruity and makes it even better to wear.

Finally the packaging! Of course coming from YSL the beautiful metallics are super luxurious, these come in silver with a band of colour that represents the colour of the oil inside. The applicator is the same as the original glosses from the brand that apply the perfect amount of product so it doesnt go streaky or patchy.

I would recommend these to anyone, but if you have dry lips and want to be able to wear a pop of colour without worrying about it going patchy these are perfect. I think these would also be great for the summer as they keep your lips moisturised and add that bit of something to a minimal look.

October Favourites

This month has been pretty hectic for me so I have found myself using the same products everyday to save time. Although I do normally like to go towards the berry tones for this time of year I have stuck to a very neutral look as its one I always enjoy wearing and takes little maintenance.

So first of all I'll talk about the Mac products I have which are my neutral quad and my blush. This is my favourite quad and is perfect for when I'm travelling; the four shades I have are Brule, Shroom, Brown Down and Woodwinked which basically cover all bases when it comes to an easy neutral eye. Then the blush is a matte formula in the shade Mocha, this is mauvey pink shade that is really natural looking and just adds that touch of colour.

The next two products are from The Balm and are relatively new to me as I got them in my online haul (here). Since I got these I have not stopped using them! The Time Balm concealer was something I was very sceptical about since nothing seems to cover my dark circles enough but this is just amazing! And of course I had to try the Mary-Lou Manizer, this is the most beautiful highlighter, its a real champagne gold and gives a sheen to the skin that in the winter sun looks gorgeous!

For the lips I have used lots of different lipsticks and glosses but I have repeatedly reached for my YSL Volupte Gloss, its just a simple everyday pink shade that makes the lips look healthy and hydrated which is a major plus for me as I always suffer from dry lips. Which brings me to the next choice and that is the new Nivea Fruity Shine balms; I have been an Elizibeth Arden 8 Hour Cream girl for the longest time and always carry some in my handbag, however this little balm is so good and the as I got the scent watermelon it smells amazing.

Lastly is the fragrance I have been wearing and this has been Rogue by Rihanna, I think this is a real love/hate perfume for alot of people but as it comes out really warm on me I love it. It does have some floral and fruity notes to it that dont really come out on my skin as I seem to pick up the Amber and Patchouli which are both scents that I really like especially in the colder months.

So those are my October favourites, let me know any of your favourites in the comments below, I read every one and reply to any questions

Current Loves: Lipsticks

I have a love, (some may say obsession) for make-up and everything about it, I enjoy experimenting with new products and colours all the time. However I have a weakness, one that I have to admit is pretty extensive... Lipsticks. They are by far my favourite beauty product as you can switch them up so easily and there are so many different kinds/colours that you can never have to many right?

Today though I have decided to pick 5 that I'm really enjoying right now, this was no easy task as I really do wear a different shade everyday but these were the 5 I have reached for more than others especially over the past few weeks or so.

1. Bourjous Velvet Rouge Edition in Nude-ist - These to me are the perfect liquid lipstick, they are matte but dont go patchy or overly dry, they glide on beautifully and the colour pay off is amazing! This shade has been an absolute love for me recently as its a mauvey nude, super pretty all year round, and if you're looking for the Kylie Jenner lip without having to splurge at the Mac counter this is well worth a go.

2. Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya - I have ALOT of these so it was hard to pick a shade, especially when there is normally at least one in my handbag at all times. This shade has been more of a summer staple, they are alot more sheer than they look so this gives a glossy coral look to the lips which I really like with a bronzed make-up look.

3. Mac in Rebel - I have mentioned this lipstick so much recently but I cant help my obsession its just such a beautiful shade and pretty much the perfect colour for autumn/winter. I like how this one almost stains your lips and does not budge at all, I would love it to be in a cremesheen formula just because I get really dry lips but other than that its a complete staple for me.

4. L'Oreal Privee Nudes in Julianne - Another shade I have talked about recently, this is my go to nude pink, I use this one alot as it goes with basically any make-up look, I even like to put it on when I'm not wearing anything else if I'm popping to the shops as it just makes me look healthier, this shade really does something to my skintone, and the formula is so good for the price, my absolute favourite drugstore lipstick.

5. YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in 13 - Now this is my forever and always favourite lipstick, it is to me the perfect pink, the formula is just beautiful, the colour lasts and when it does wear off it does so evenly and leaves my lips still with a pink sheen. It is a pricey product but if I had to throw all my other lipsticks away and keep one this would be sat in my make-up bag, plus the packaging is just beautiful and I am abit of a magpie!

Let me know your favourite lipstick in the comments below, I read and reply to everyone!

August Favourites

So we're now into September which means all the berry toned lipsticks come out of their drawers and all the corals go into hiding until next summer however over August I found myself using products I feel I would use all year round and have actually really liked.

The newest item to me is my YSL Fusion Ink foundation (link to review here) which I am LOVING! It's definitely for me a more autumn winter foundation as it is matte so I prefer their Touche Eclat foundation for the summer to give a more glowing dewy look. This foundation is super lightweight and gives a really airbrushed look.

My neutral Mac quad is always a staple in my make up bag along with the Naked palettes however I have found myself reaching for this palette more than any others over the past few weeks. In this palette I have Shroom, Brule, Brown Down and Woodwinked.

For the rest of my make up there has been a pink/nude theme for August, the blush is a YSL limited edition and has two different pink tones one a soft light pink the other a more deep brighter tone. For the lips I have constantly used the L'oreal Privee Julianne's Nude, I have occasionly worn Cheryl's but prefer the pinker tone; Gloss wise I have used two, the first is Estee Lauder in Tempting Tearose which is really lovely nude and the second is a YSL Gloss Volupte in the shade 202 which is a shimmery mid pink which is lovely with the L'oreal lipstick.

So those are some of the products that I have been loving last month, please leave any comments below and I will reply, thanks for reading!

YSL Fusion Ink Foundation Review.

Hey Guys!

Today I'm writing a review on the new YSL Fusion Ink foundation, I bought the product about a month ago and have worn it pretty consistently to give it a really good test in different times of day and parts of my life to  see how it manages to stay on my face. I have also taken some before and after photos for you guys to see what I'm talking about.

Okayy, so this is my face. Looking crazy happy right there, the lighting is abit bright so it is covering a couple of blemishes on my face that were worse off camera. I also have quite abit of red pigmentation in my skin which again looks less intense on the photo. I do moisturise my face before applying my make up and at the moment I am currently using Clinique Moisture Surge along with the aloe spray from the same collection.

So this is me with just the foundation on, when applying it looks like I'm literally airbrushing my face, it is a matte finish which I don't normally go for as their original Touche Eclat foundation is one of my all time favourites which gives a really nice natural glow however I cannot stop wearing this! Its so easy to buff on and the colour match is perfect, I did try the 7 day trial from my local Debenhams first to see if I liked it as it is a pricey purchase which I would recommend anyone to do even if you are like me and have tried the other foundation as they are completely different.

The foundation has lasted through entire shifts at work, a night out and days out and endured both rain and sunshine so for me it is definitely worth the price tag and as so little goes so far a bottle will last quite a while. So I 100% recommend this to anyone thats been thinking about giving it a go, it has really impressed me and is becoming my go-to base.

(also I do have dry/sensitive skin and this foundation has given me no issues incase anyone was wondering about that)
